Why is it used in cosmetics and personal care products?

Zinc Pyrithione enhances the appearance and feel of hair, by increasing hair body, suppleness, or sheen, or by improving the texture of hair that has been damaged physically or by chemical treatment. It also helps to control dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and psoriasis. Zinc Pyrithione cleanses the skin or prevents odor by destroying or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. It can also be used to protect cosmetics and personal care products from spoilage by preventing or retarding bacterial growth.
